Getting More Out of Messages For iOS

Messaging on iOS has gotten better and better. Now you can react to a friends text or add special effects to add flare and emphasis to your message.

With iOS 11 messaging your friends can be a lot of fun. The only condition is that your friend or family member needs to also have an iPhone for them to have the same experience. In addition to text effects, you can send special background effects like the fireworks in the gif above. It all starts with long pressing the blue send icon to the right of your test. Once you begin typing, you will notice a blue circle with a white arrow. If you just tap it, your text will send. However, if you press and hold you get a screen that says "Send with effect". Below there you will see two categories:

1. Bubble: This option will add text effects to your text. The current options are SLAM, LOUD, GENTLE and INVISIBLE INK. Tapping on any of these options will change how your text message appears on delivery to your friend/Family's phone.

2. Screen: When you tap on "Screen" you will preview different effects. Currently, the first option is "SEND WITH ECHO". Other effects are found by swiping from right to left.

Finally, Messages now has APPS. By pressing the app store logo to the left of your text, you can send gifs, music, share your location and much much more. Have fun and remember, we can help you one on one to master messaging for iOS.
